September 11, 2001: What We Saw

A New York couple yesterday released graphic footage they shot from the 36th floor of their apartment building, 500 yards from the World Trade Center's north tower. I was floored by this, particularly because it's not the analysis of newspeople that many of us heard, but a family watching the horrific drama unfold before their very eyes. Incredibly powerful.

The thing is, towards the end of the video.. the English (australian) lady asks the younger woman if she's seen the movie "on the beach" That was.. such an appropriate movie reference.

The footage is so different when its one persons story from start to finish. Till this point I have seen the news footage, and lotf of clips from here and from there. It was a blur of images and events. This is the whole event from start to finish through one familys eyes. It's different for some reason.
