Windows Live Messenger Live beta formally released

By Nick Farrell: Wednesday 10 May 2006, 06:44

MIGHTY MICROSOFT has decided to open its Windows Live Messenger beta for the great unwashed to play with.

The Vole had only allowed the service to be run by invitation only, but has now opened it up for anyone who wants to download it here.

The software offers a PC-to-phone calling service called Windows Live Call, and free video with voice communications called Video Conversation. It also allows 'sharing folders' feature that lets users share photos and other files by dragging and dropping the files into their Windows Live Messenger window.

It does come with a cute picture of a kitten if you like that sort of thing I, however, am unable to disassociate the image from the flea-bag who is sharpening his claws on my leg, demanding breakfast. ?
